A look back at 2023...
2023 Tour Fast Facts
We completed 10 tours this year and traveled all over Italy! We traveled to 12 regions (out of 20) in Italy including Lazio, Campania, Tuscany, Umbria, Basilicata, Puglia, Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna, Veneto, Liguria, Piedmont, and Trentino Alto-Adige!
We had friends and strangers (who quickly became friends!) from all over the US travel with us.
We had a total of 173 travelers on all our tours representing 19 states including Pennsylvania, Florida, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Connecticut, California, Washington, Illinois, Texas, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Georgia, New York, Maryland, Minnesota, Delaware, Colorado, and Washington.
We also had people of all ages on our tours ranging from 24-84 years old.
Not including air travel, we traveled at least 5026km (3123 miles) this year! A BIG thanks to Steve and our friends at TrentinoBus who get us to all these amazing places safely!
Of course! That's what our tours are all about. Because we curate culinary excursions, it is our top priority to take our travelers to what we believe are some of the top, off-the-beaten-path restaurants and wineries. We curate each meal to highlight the specialties of the region we are in. This year, we visited one of the best pizzerias in the world in Campania, we enjoyed pasta topped with crusco (a dried and fried red pepper) in Basilicata, and tried real Balsamic Vinegar from Modena paired perfectly with panna cotta and fresh strawberries.
The number of restaurants we visited: 128!
The number of wineries we visited: 18!
Besides restaurants, thanks to some of the most amazing artisans, we got a behind-the-scenes look at other culinary specialties including: Honey, grappa, cheese, pesto, coffee, culatello, & more!
We wanted to include the number of bottles of wine we consumed, but this ended up being too daunting of a task. A LOT is the answer!
Where we stayed during our travels
We stayed in a variety of different types of hotels: boutique hotels, agriturismi, private villas, etc! All of the marked places were our "home base" while we traveled.
